Artistic Website Design & Graphic Art - Glass Text Image

The first thing you do is create a new file with whatever dimensions you like.
I made mine 400 x 100. Set the resolution at 72 dpi and give it a white background.
Save your new file.
(it is better to save it as a .cpt as it can be modified over and over again and when you want to make it into a another file type you can export it).

Step 1

Select your Text tool and choose a font. I chose VAGRoundedBT. The fatter the font the better the effect. Make sure your Render to Object button is selected. Choose white for your font color. Set the font size to 72 and type a word. Once done click the object picker tool and go to the next step. Remember, you typed your word in white so it will not be visible yet.
Save your file

Step 2

Your next step involves masking the typed word. You will open your Objects Dockers window - which is located in View - and click on the little button at the bottom where the big green Click Me is pointing. That is the Create Mask from Object. Now you should be able to see your text outlined with the mask shape.
